A word of introduction
Welcome to The Coin Cellar website, our brand new coin site in 2026, replacing our previous, out-of-date site from 2008.
We are Paula and Nick and are based in Berkshire. We're lifelong collectors of a wide range of rare and beautiful coins specialising in the British Isles, milled and hammered, principally from the 16th century to the modern day.
Paula is fascinated by the unique character of hammered coins, especially those from the Tudor period through to the English Civil War, while Nick enjoys the many varieties of early milled coins of all denominations with special focus on the Great Recoinage, in particular Shillings and Farthings.
We'll be adding new coins all the time, so we hope you'll find something to suit every interest and every budget.
Feel free to make enquiries; we'll do our best to answer questions as quickly as possible.
